Church ordered to pay $10.9 million for funeral protest

as far as my life is concerned, me in smokey rooms isn't awesome.
i'm glad they have the smoking ban.
that's not taking a political side, that's taking a sovereign side.
as in, i don't like smelling it.
i don't like my clothes smelling like it.
i don't like seeing it.

How many presidential hopefuls that lost do you hear about receiving buzz about a nobel peace prize?
and i'm not saying anything in regards to choosing al gore, all i'm saying, is that this man truly believes in something.
i think it's interesting to note of where we possibly could be today, almost 8 years later.

i purchased my new camera and it has a video feature.
video with audio.
this is a secret fetish of mine.
documenting with sound.
sight and sound.
stimulating.
which leaves nothing for this picture. i just couldn't believe how beautiful the colors were.
why do we miss this?
i want to downsize my tv.
bad for business?
Anyway, the camera i bought, it takes terrible pictures.
this, is not one of them either. this is how good my last camera was, and why i should praise olympus, with such little noise in the low light pictures.
if i would delete those pictures on here now, i can repost them day by day by day by day by day..
and if google makes a product, that you would normally buy at a store, and gives it away free on the internet with un-intrusive installation and version updates, it makes you feel good about life.
seriously.
i hope you see it's relevance
if you, as a big, influential fan of music display your music like most artists, it takes away the gauche of it all.
if you influence a mass number of fans, as an artist, do you want to reach more people? or do you want to be paid more?
i think whatever way you answer shows just what sort of person you are, and what matters most.
do you act for money or respect?

Initially, they viewed it as a way to let fans preview Radiohead’s music without the guidance — or filter — of radio programmers, music critics or other conventional tastemakers.
Instead, when Radiohead quietly divulged plans to let fans name their price for the digital download of its new album, “In Rainbows,” it incited talk of a revolution in the music industry, which has found the digital marketplace to be far less of a cash cow than it once dreamed. Though Radiohead is in a position that can’t easily be replicated — it completed its long-term recording contract with the music giant EMI while retaining a big audience of obsessive fans — its move is being seen as a sign for aspiring 21st-century music stars.
“To put your record out for someone’s individual perceived value is brilliant,” said David Kahne, a longtime music producer who has collaborated with artists like Paul McCartney and Kelly Clarkson. While it presents obvious risks as a business model, he noted: “It’s a spiritual model. That’s what it feels like to me.”

the most disturbing part is that i thought of what would happen if they paid artists less, and don't market them like whores.

Radiohead’s move comes just as a federal jury in Minnesota last week decided that a mother found liable for copyright infringement for sharing music online should pay damages amounting to about $9,250 apiece for 24 songs.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mr. Edge summed up the pricing pandemonium simply: “Digital technology has reintroduced the age of the troubadour. You are worth what people are prepared to give you in the digital age because they can get it for nothing.”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In another departure from convention, the band declined to send out early copies of the music for reviewers and has not settled on a traditional single to push to radio stations. As a result, programmers are improvising. In San Francisco, for instance, the rock station KITS-FM, Live 105, has the entire album on its Web site (live105.com) and will let fans vote to determine which songs merit airplay.

Radiohead completed its long-term contract with EMI with 2003’s “Hail to the Thief,” which sold roughly one million copies in the United States. The band will also tour next year.
“The final acid test,” Mr. Edge said, “is come January, when the music has been available. Will there still be sufficient demand for a CD for us to feel that we’ve proved that making music available does not necessarily cannibalize CD sales?”

A Strange Brew From Molson, SABMiller
Carl Gutierrez, 10.09.07, 10:12 PM ET
Molson Coors and SABMiller shook up the brewing industry Tuesday, announcing that they will combine their U.S. brewing operations to better compete with industry leader Anheuser-Busch.
Investors sent shares of Molson Coors (nyse: TAP - news - people ) up 10.5%, or $5.32, to close $56.15, while Anheuser-Busch (nyse: BUD - news - people ) dropped 1.1%, or 56 cents, to $51.47. In London trading, SABMiller shares rose 1.4%, or 21 pence, to 1,487 pence ($30.31).
The joint venture, to be known as MillerCoors, will result in cost savings of $500 million, the companies said, from reducing shipping distances, economies of scale in brewing operations, optimizing production and eliminating duplicate corporate and marketing services.
