Dry cleaner in infamous pants lawsuit sells 2nd shop
Owners of a shop sued for $54 million in damages over a pair of missing pants are closing the second of their three stores after revenue losses.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The owners of the dry cleaning shop made famous after they were sued for millions because of a lost pair of pants said Wednesday they have sold a second of their three stores.

The Chung family said they sold the shop involved in the dispute because of revenue loss and the emotional toll from the lawsuit.

In June, the family successfully defended a suit filed by Roy Pearson, a family court judge who sued the cleaners for $54 million in damages for a pair of missing pants.

While the legal fees were covered by fund-raisers, the Chungs have lost business because of the lawsuit and because Pearson posted flyers critical of the cleaners around the neighborhood, according to the Chungs' lawyer.
Court finds missing pants not worth $54M

At one point, Soo and Jin Chung owned three stores as a part of their dry cleaning chain, but they said in a statement issued Wednesday they were forced to sell two of the stores because of financial losses stemming from the infamous lawsuit. The first store was sold last year.

"This is a truly tragic example of how devastating frivolous litigation can be to the American people and to small businesses," the family's lawyer, Christopher Manning, said in the statement. "This family has poured its heart and soul into their dry cleaning stores only to have their dreams crushed by Roy Pearson's lawsuit."

Pearson is appealing the decision.

I initially was taken aback (i think i'm correct with my spelling) thinking this is a stupid article, who cares about that stupid guy that made a stupid lawsuit for an assinine amount of money over some lost pants.
(political ambiguity, but fact is fact. to sue someone $54,000,000 just because they lost your 1 pair of pants ($400 at most) is factually stupid.

I actually read the article for some reason and realized what was once the Jin's business, (their life, their source of income and financial support for their family, pending any children) and they're forced to sell 1 of their 3 shops because this 1 inconsiderate gentleman feels it necessary to post fliers about how bad the shop is.
How bad these dry cleaners are.

and for one reason or another (whether it be natural response to a psycho standing on a street pushing flyers in your face telling you how much this place sucks and you avoid it in fear or for the fact that)(you actully read his sign and didn't go to their establishment because of 1 pair of lost pants, even though they've dealt with enough people and shirts and pants to create 3 different buildings they have so many customers. 3.

to be able to keep 1 business afloat because of your repeated customer patronage should say something really good about the way you handle pants. Now think of 3.
